Each part has its own role: the body gives us strength, the mind gives us direction, and the soul gives us purpose. Surprisingly, AI offers us a perfect mirror. By comparing the human system with an AI system, we can understand why the mind is the most crucial part of our being.
🏋️ Body = Hardware
The human body is like the hardware of a computer or a robot. It’s the physical structure—the muscles, bones, organs, and senses—that allows us to act in the world.
In AI, this is the processors, sensors, and servers. For example, a robot’s arms and legs are its hardware, just like our limbs. The body gives power and potential, but it cannot decide what to do on its own.
🧠 Mind = Software / Algorithm
Now comes the fascinating part: the mind. Unlike the body, the mind is invisible. It’s the software that runs the system—the place where thoughts, emotions, imagination, decisions, and memories are processed.
In AI, this role is played by algorithms and machine learning models. Without software, the most advanced robot is just a lifeless piece of metal. Similarly, without the mind, the human body has no direction—it is alive but not truly living.
Think about a self-driving car. Its sensors (body) may detect the road, but it’s the software (mind) that decides whether to brake, accelerate, or turn left. If the software is flawed, the car becomes dangerous. The same is true for us: if the mind is restless, negative, or unfocused, our actions become harmful or meaningless.

AI doesn’t truly have a soul—it can simulate purpose based on the goals humans give it (“maximize efficiency,” “reduce accidents”), but it doesn’t have inner awareness. Humans, however, do. The soul is what makes us ask why we exist, not just how we exist.
⚖️ Why the Mind is Crucial
Now the big question: why is the mind considered more crucial than the body or even the soul?
- Decision-Maker: The mind decides how the body should act and how the soul should be expressed.
- Filter of Reality: We don’t see life as it is—we see life as our mind interprets it. Two people can face the same situation but experience it differently based on their mental state.
- Bridge Between Body & Soul: The body can act, and the soul can inspire, but only the mind connects the two. Without the mind, the body has no direction, and the soul cannot express its higher purpose.
